Never Give Up, Even If You Fail Many Times

There are still many novice traders who are pessimistic about stories of successful traders. They believe that the journey of a successful trader from starting to trade to making multiple profits from the initial capital is too grandiose and appears to be a coincidence. The story of a successful trader from this Roboforex broker, on the other hand, is completely different and true. Therefore, the following is the transcript (translation) of the interview between Roboforex and Vladimir:

Vladimir, What did you do before trading, and how did you start trading forex? What is your motivation other than making money?

Before trading, I was a student. At that time, I downloaded a lot of HP applications from various websites, and I found one product called "Earning via the Internet." Then I downloaded it, and a series of numbers appeared in quick succession, which was really confusing. I was interested in the application and started looking for articles and information about forex on the internet.

I learned this pretty quickly; within two weeks, I opened a live account with an initial deposit of RUB 2,000 (equivalent to USD 32). In just two days, I lost all my capital (MC).

But I was not disappointed; in fact, I became even more curious. For most traders, forex is a source of income, but for me, trading forex is a hobby.

How long did it take you to learn the basics of trading before getting consistent profits?

I learned quickly, but I only started making consistent profits in the fall of 2014. And as far as I can remember, the first profit was made six months after starting live trading in the fall of 2008. It was an economic downturn in which one could earn money. However, my profit at that time was not consistent. I only earn RUB 30,000–60,000 (about USD 450–950) twice a year, that's all.

In my 7 years of trading, I have participated in various contests, including those on RoboForex. I often win. Psychologically, if you want to take trading seriously, you inevitably have to use your own capital.

Do you use "expert advisors" (trading robots)? If so, what trading robot?

No, I've never used an EA and never wanted to. In my opinion, EA robots are not able to adapt to ever-changing market conditions. It's better if you take full control yourself.

What trading experiences can you share with other traders?

From my personal trading experience, there is one important message: don't give up, even if you lose and fail over and over again. Sometimes a month's profit can cover years of losses. And you should spend more time honing your trading skills as a successful trader.

How do you deal with the tension of trading, where one small mishap can go a long way?

I take it easy. I just go with the flow and let the process run its course. No worries. And the more I deposit, the less emotions are involved.

Now that your profits have taken hold and all negative emotions are gone, what do you want to spend your excess money on?

I've taken some of the profits and spent them on buying a BMW X6. Since the beginning, I've dreamed of buying a car with the profits from forex trading. It turns out that the dream happened (laughs). I will continue trading with the rest of my deposit.

Is forex still your main source of income in the future?

Yes. Currently, my main income comes from forex. I believe it will remain the same in the future.
