Pepperstone, the licensed forex and CFD broker based in Melbourne, has introduced a significant update for the second quarter of 2023. The update entails increasing loss percentage statistics in risk warnings for affiliate websites across various regulatory areas. These areas include FCA (UK, Switzerland), CySEC (EU), BaFin (DE, AT), and SCB (APAC, LATAM).
New Risk Warning Updates
Pepperstone, established in 2010, has grown into a globally recognized, multi-regulated ECN broker known for its fast trade execution and comprehensive trading platform support.
The broker serves over 400,000 clients worldwide and offers access to more than 1,200 trading instruments. It has branch offices in six countries and has received numerous industry awards, with over 45 prestigious accolades.
The risk warnings emphasize the complex nature of spread betting and CFDs and highlight the high risk of rapid financial loss due to leverage. Pepperstone has implemented a global risk alert on affiliate websites to inform clients about the potential risks associated with CFD trading.
The risk statistics for retail investors show that, within each regulatory area, the percentage of retail investor accounts losing money when trading CFDs ranges from 74% to 89%. These percentages break down as follows: FCA (80.9%), CySEC (79.7%), BaFin (76.2%), and SCB (86.4%). However, it's important to note that CMA (Africa) and DFSA (GCC) do not track loss statistics.
