In a noteworthy move, global multi-asset broker Exness has allocated social funds to introduce three specialized fire detection drones, also known as unmanned aerial systems, to combat the pressing issue of forest fires in Cyprus. This forex broker news underscores the significance of early detection in addressing forest fire challenges.
During a press conference held on November 10, Exness revealed that two drones are already operational, while the third is slated to commence its duties in early 2024. This initiative marks the broker's second collaborative project with the Ministry of Forestry, following a prior financial injection of €300,000 aimed at bolstering firefighting capabilities.
The drone technology, developed by the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory at the Cyprus Institute, is designed to contribute to environmental protection in the Cyprus region, aligning with the requirements of the Forest Service. As part of its commitment, the high-level transparency broker has also sponsored three professional pilots to operate the drones for two years.
In addition to the drone initiative, Exness has outlined a euro roadmap involving a €300,000 donation to combat forest fires on the island, particularly in the aftermath of the tragic fire incident in Arakapas in 2021. The instant withdrawal platform has further allocated three fire trucks and engaged in tree-planting activities in the affected areas. These combined contributions to the Ministry of Forestry exceed €600,000, surpassing the initial agreement by more than double.
