In response to the growing demands of retail stock traders and a commitment to enhancing its service offerings, the global multi-asset broker, eToro, has introduced extended trading hours for stocks. This new service expansion is primarily focused on increasing accessibility to a broader range of US stocks and markets outside of traditional trading hours.
eToro clients now have the opportunity to execute buy and sell orders for a selected pool of 30 US stocks at more flexible times using the platform. This means they can participate in earnings calls and macro events beyond standard trading hours.
With this innovative feature, investors can closely monitor the expected percentage impact of pre-market movements on their portfolios ahead of the US market opening. This effectively extends pre-market trading access by an initial three hours.
At the launch, eToro offers ten prominent stocks, including Tesla, Amazon, Apple, Nio, Meta, Microsoft, Alphabet, Nvidia, GameStop, and Netflix. The social trading platform plans to expand its asset list by adding approximately 20 trading instruments and introducing post-market functionality.
Dan Mokzuluski, Managing Director of eToro UK, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating, "With US companies releasing results and news outside of market hours, there is often significant price movement before the opening bell. Pre-market trading allows retail investors to stay ahead of the curve by entering early or by hedging to protect against a gap in the market." He added, "This launch is yet another example of eToro providing customers with the tools to meet their investment needs, from beginners to experienced traders."
