IC Markets has officially appointed Jaser Mahmoud, a blockchain expert, as Chief Technology Officer. With over two decades of experience, Mahmoud will strengthen the management team and lead the company's technological direction towards 2026.
The forex broker IC Markets has appointed Jaser Mahmoud as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Mahmoud joined at the end of January 2026 and will lead the development of digital asset infrastructure and updates to the company's system architecture, marking a new strategic step in the broker's technological transformation.
Before joining IC Markets forex broker, Mahmoud had a career at the enterprise-class blockchain company, R3, with his last position as Chief Architect. His experience is strong in the field of distributed ledger technology, where he designed large-scale systems for regulated financial institutions using the Corda platform.
This expertise—combining traditional finance (TradFi) with decentralized technology—is seen as crucial for enhancing the stability of the backend systems of IC Markets and supporting future asset tokenization plans, particularly for brokers with a zero spread model.
With over 20 years of experience in the technology and finance industry, including a strategic role as Head of Enterprise Architecture at ADSS, Mahmoud has a strong track record of bridging the needs of the retail forex market with emerging new technologies. During his career in the United Arab Emirates, he also actively collaborated with central banks and regulators, translating complex policies into secure and nationally applicable technical frameworks.
At IC Markets forex broker, Mahmoud will lead several key initiatives, ranging from the modernization of global core trading systems, integration of blockchain-based security and transparency, to strengthening compliance with digital asset regulations in the Middle East and other international markets.
