For Setya H,

The only advantage of using a fixed-rate account is that the exchange rate for deposit/withdrawal purposes will not be affected by fluctuations in the US Dollar because it uses a fixed exchange rate. This will certainly make it easier for beginner traders when they want to make deposits/withdrawals, as they no longer need to worry about the exchange rate difference between the Rupiah and the US Dollar.

Like a double-edged sword, the disadvantage of this fixed-rate account lies in its own advantage. Because the fixed-rate account sets a fixed exchange rate for deposit/withdrawal matters and will not be affected by fluctuations in the US Dollar, this option is considered not worth it for some traders who want to take advantage of the weakening/strengthening of the US Dollar.

For more information on the advantages and disadvantages of fixed-rate accounts, and which brokers provide this type of account, please read here: Controversy of Fixed Rate for Deposit and WD in Forex Brokers.

I hope this helps.

@ Setya H:

The advantage of using a fixed rate is for deposits and withdrawals using a fixed USD/IDR exchange rate. In this case, the benefit is that if USD/IDR rises or the Rupiah weakens, when withdrawing the trader benefits because they receive a larger Rupiah value. The disadvantage is that if the Rupiah strengthens or USD/IDR falls, the trader loses because they receive less Rupiah.

Regarding which broker is good, we recommend choosing a broker that is already regulated by a credible international regulatory body, namely: CFTC, NFA, FCA, FSA, FINMA, MiFID, ASIC and FMA.
A credible regulatory body is one that has been tested and internationally recognized, and imposes strict sanctions on brokers if they violate agreed-upon terms. The regulatory body is also responsible for the security of client funds.

Answer to Setya H:

Advantages of Fixed rate:

  • Certainty of transaction costs, allowing traders to calculate risk and reward more accurately.
  • No fluctuation in spread, so the spread will not widen during volatile market conditions or during the release of important fundamental news.

Disadvantages of Fixed rate:

  • No opportunity to get a lower spread than normal market conditions, so transaction costs may be higher compared to variable spreads in normal market situations.
  • No opportunity to profit from rapid spread fluctuations during periods of volatility.

It is important to note that Fixed spread does not guarantee better price execution or more profitable trading results. This depends on the trader's skill in performing market analysis and making good trading decisions.

Examples of forex brokers that offer fixed spreads include:

  • FirewoodFX
  • FXOptimax
  • FBS
However, before choosing a broker with a fixed spread, be sure to do your research and read reviews and user experiences from these brokers. Choose a broker that has strict regulation such as FCA, NFA, CFTC, ASIC, FINMA, etc.
