If you want to find out if a broker is actually regulated, you can check it on the regulator's website. For example, if you see that eToro is regulated by the NFA, you can check the NFA Basic website and enter the broker's company name in the search box. If the name appears and the regulatory status is still valid, then the broker is not making false claims and is indeed regulated there.
