When I gather with a community of traders, someone said that I am a gambling trader. I am more inclined to fundamental analysis, I do not use Fibonacci lines and draw lines. Maybe those who see it as guessing.
Actually, what is the difference between gambling trading and analytical trading?
Can it be immediately labeled as gambling when people do not use Fibonacci lines and draw lines?

To Yusuf Muntaz,

Fundamental certainly differs from technical. Because of this difference, we as traders should not label traders whose streams differ from ours as gambling/gambling. If technical traders have a strong basis for analysis (such as the use of technical indicators, Fibonacci, trendline usage, etc.), then fundamental traders certainly also have their own basis for analysis, such as paying attention and listening directly to speeches from central bank officials, following economic news developments from various credible sources, etc.

Therefore, if you feel you have a strong basis for analysis, I don't think the words of another trader will bother you too much as a fundamental trader. And I also urge all fellow traders not to label/negatively judge other traders just because they have different trading flows/styles. Because not all traders have the same basis for analysis and strategy.

Hopefully this can help.

Hello Master..
I read about discretionary trading using gut feeling. Feeling means feeling like it will go up or down.
Gamblers in casinos also use gut feeling when gambling.
Is discretionary trading a euphemism for gambling based on guesswork?

To Sudirman Thohir,

I personally do not know and also do not/have not yet met a figure who applies a trading strategy like the one you described. Therefore, I cannot provide further comments regarding traders who adhere to that belief/school of thought.

@ Yusuf Muntaz:

- … Actually, what is the difference between gambling trading and analysis trading?

Trading activity is not gambling, but investment, whether with analysis or without analysis. It is true that if there is no analysis at all, it can be considered like gambling.

If you only do fundamental analysis, I think it's possible, and it can't be considered gambling because analysis cannot be done in gambling, but it's purely guessing.

Answer to Yusuf Muntaz: No, whether your trading is gambling or not is not based on the type of method.

Fundamental analysis or technical analysis are approaches used to read the market with the aim of taking advantage of potential profits at the right time.

Trading is not gambling because there is valid supporting data regarding the performance of the trading. In this case, analysis plays a role as your approach to reading opportunities in the market.
