The Securities Commission Malaysia (SCM) has taken a firm stance to protect investors by placing forex brokers InstaForex and InstaTrade on the investor alert list. The two platforms, which operate under the InstaFintech Group, were accused of carrying out securities trading in Malaysia without proper permits.
Even though forex broker InstaForex is recognized globally for FX and CFD trading, its operations in Malaysia are considered illegal by regulators. SCM clarified that neither this multi-asset broker nor InstaTrade is licensed to provide capital markets services in the country. Besides these entities, other platforms such as Binomo, PPNANCE, Folgory Exchange, and a potential clone of Finex Trade Station have also been flagged for unauthorized activity.
To protect the public, SCM regularly updates its alert list, providing a valuable resource for investors to identify unregulated platforms before committing their funds. The regulator emphasizes that legitimate capital markets services must be supported by appropriate licensing. Any platform without proper registration should be seen as a warning sign to potential investors.
Notably, SCM's monitoring efforts have flagged other leading broker names such as Axitrader, Admirals, and HotForex. To foster greater awareness, the regulator has created a reporting channel for suspicious market activity.
