Octa will Discontinue Copy Trading Services in Indonesia on 27 February

Forex broker Octa has announced in the latest forex broker news that they will discontinue the copy trading service, Octa Copy, in Indonesia on February 27. After that date, users will no longer be able to register or access this service through the website, as the web version will be removed. However, those who registered before the deadline will still be able to access this service through the Android app.

For iOS users, this closure means they will no longer have access to copy trading in Indonesia. Forex broker Octa advises these users to transfer their funds and stop copying the Master Trader before February 27, as they will not be able to do so after the service is closed. The company also encourages traders to contact customer support if they need assistance during this transition period.

Regulatory Challenges for Copy Trading in Indonesia

Copy trading is becoming increasingly popular in Indonesia, allowing beginner traders to follow and imitate trades from experienced professional traders. This method helps to reduce risks and provides an easier way to participate in the market without extensive trading knowledge.

However, regulatory issues have become a challenge for many copy trading platforms. BAPPEBTI, the financial supervisory agency of Indonesia, only allows licensed trading platforms to operate in Indonesia. The Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) has classified Octa as an unauthorized platform, which likely contributed to the broker's decision to close copy trading services in Indonesia.
