After the success of the charity program for the Elpida cancer and leukemia foundation last year, BDSwiss is back with its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative to make a positive contribution to the local community. This broker announced its latest charitable contribution to support the Cypriot-based charity Telethon.
BDSwiss to Fund Research Telethon
Telethon is a United States international charity that later expanded to other countries in Europe. Telethon is committed to helping mobilize hundreds of thousands of volunteers and raise the social awareness of millions of people on the importance of health around the world.
Telethon's primary mission is not only to help patients with limited funds but also to conduct research to find effective treatments for neuromuscular, genetic, and other diseases.
At a time when the Cypriot economy is facing its biggest downturn in 2020, fundraising and research funding are two of the biggest challenges for the nonprofit.
However, it is hoped that the broker's donations will be able to support Telethon's performance in the form of research grants and financing of public awareness campaigns on neurological and genetic diseases.
The donation went to the Executive Medical Director of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology, Dr. Leonidas Fylaktou, by BDSwiss representatives Drosoula Hadjisavva and Katalina Michael.
For the help of this donation, Dr. Fylaktou would like to thank BDSwiss for its great contribution, especially during these difficult times, when many Telethon events and fundraising efforts have been canceled due to the pandemic.
As the first step of this collaboration, in the near future, BDSwiss and Telethon have scheduled a charity concert for September 2021.
